Today, we wanted to let you know about two events we are hosting — one in D.C., the other remote. There is no charge to attend either. We’ll begin with the former.

2025 Decentralized Tech Summit

WASHINGTON D.C.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, we are hosting the Decentralized Tech Summit in Washington, D.C., to explore both the evolving landscape of decentralized technologies and the policies shaping their future, with a particular focus on blockchain.

In partnership with the Project Liberty Institute, the summit will be held between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM ET at the National Press Club. It is our third annual summit following the success of our 2024 Summit at the National Press Club and 2023 Summit at the Harvard Kennedy School.

The event is in-person, free to attend, and by invitation only. If you’re interested in participating, click here to complete the brief application form. We apologize in advance that we’re not able to accommodate all applicants.

Attendees and speakers will have similar profiles to those at past events, which included Congressman Auchincloss, Congressman Nickel, former CFTC Chair Chris Giancarlo, former CFTC Chair Tim Massad, and leaders from Harvard Berkman Klein Center, Andreessen Horowitz, Wilson Center, Stanford Codex Center, ACLU, Milken Institute, Aspen Institute, Cato Institute, USAID, Filecoin Foundation, Coin Center, Rockefeller Foundation, Paradigm, Tech Congress, among others.

Structure: Our goal is to facilitate collaboration, so the schedule is primarily composed of lightning talks and roundtable discussions. You will be seated at a table with a group selected for you based on your background and interests.

What is Decentralization?

VIRTUAL

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in partnership with Project Liberty, we are hosting a virtual pop-up event to explore the definitions of decentralization and how the absence of clear and consistent definitions, within the context of blockchain in particular, poses challenges for technologists and policymakers alike.

This will be a panel discussion followed by an audience Q&A. The event begins at 1:30 PM and ends at 2:30 PM ET.

Speakers:

  • Braxton Woodham: CTO at Project Liberty

  • Sarah Brennan: General Counsel at Delphi Ventures

  • Tim Beiko: Ethereum Core Developer

  • Connor Spelliscy: Executive Director at Decentralization Research Center

We look forward to seeing you soon.
