It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite you for the launch of "How Can Data Cooperatives Help Build a Fair Data Economy? – Laying the Groundwork for a Scalable Alternative to the Centralized Digital Economy," the final report in collaboration with the Project Liberty Institute informed by extensive research, 16 interviews with world-renowned experts, and insights from a workshop with over 38 cooperative experts and practitioners

This interactive session will explore how data cooperatives can offer a fairer, more democratic model for data governance, drawing lessons from legacy co-ops, emerging global case studies, and practical pathways to scale. Participants will hear from leading voices in the field and have the opportunity to contribute to the growing movement shaping the future of the digital economy.

The discussions will feature data co-op experts, practitioners and members of the Data Cooperative Action Network including: Nathan Schneider (UC Boulder), Astha Kapor (Aapti Institute), and Suha Maqsood Mohamed (Centre for Data Futures, King's College London). 

The final report’s key contributors will also present their case studies, namely: Doug O’Brien (NCBA), Kelani Nichole (TRANSFER), Vinay Narayan (Kerala Food Platform), Matt Martensen (User Coop).
